Terms of Service

Last updated October 14, 2026

These terms cover your use of VanityPlate - the website at vanityplate.org, the member dashboard at app.vanityplate.org and the VanityPlate Discord bot (together, "VanityPlate" or "the service"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use VanityPlate.

1. What VanityPlate does

VanityPlate checks public plate-availability lookups on state DMV, BMV and similar websites and shows you the results, plus alerts when a plate you're interested in changes. VanityPlate is an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any DMV, BMV or government agency.

2. Your account

3. Free plan and Premium

4. Acceptable use

Please don't:

We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

5. Alerts

Alerts by email or Discord are sent on a best-effort basis. Email and Discord delivery can be delayed or filtered, and alerts depend on state websites answering. Don't rely on an alert as the only way to know about a plate. You can turn email alerts off at any time from the link in each email or on the Watches page.

6. Other services

VanityPlate relies on other companies' services, including state DMV websites, Discord, Clerk (sign-in), Google (if you sign in with Google) and Whop (payments). Their own terms and policies apply when you use them, and we aren't responsible for them.

7. Our content

The VanityPlate name, logo, website and software belong to us. Plate data shown by the service comes from public state lookups. You may use the results for your own personal plate search.

8. No warranty

VanityPlate is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that the service will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free, or that you'll get any particular plate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, VanityPlate won't be liable for any indirect or consequential loss - including a plate you didn't get - and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using VanityPlate at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if we stop offering the service.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using VanityPlate after a change, you accept the updated terms.
